Torres Named All-American For Second Time

VC soccer defender Leslie Torres has joined elite company. The sophomore from Pacifica High School in Oxnard was recently named second team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches for the second straight year. She becomes just the second player in Pirate history to earn two All-American awards, joining Hall of Famer Daisy Cardona, who earned her honors in 2011 and 2012.

For the second year in a row, VC's Leslie Torres has been voted as the Western State Conference North Division's Defensive Player of the Year. The sophomore leads nine other PIrates who received All-WSC honors. Alondra Sanchez, Tanaya Moreno, Jazzy Moreno and Jennifer Ramirez all received first team accolades as voted by the conference coaches last month.

Late Score Ends Pirate Soccer Season in Playoffs

The VC women's soccer team played a hard-fought playoff contest at Southwestern College in Chula Vista Wednesday, battling the Jaguars to a scoreless tie for 85 minutes before the hosts scored a late goal for the 1-0 win. Pirate goalkeeper Janessah Gonzalez recorded four saves in goal to keep the Pirates close throughout the contest.

Women's Soccer Back in the Post-Season

Continuing an extraordinary run, the Pirates' women's soccer team has once again qualified for the post-season. Ventura is Seeded No. 22 in Southern California and will travel to No. 11 Southwestern College in Chula Vista in an opening round match Wednesday Nov. 19 at 7:00 pm. This will be VC's 28th playoff appearance in 29 seasons since the program's inception in 1996, all under current head coach Steve Hoffman.

Sophomore goal keeper Janessah Gonzalez posted her 15th career shutout Tuesday as Ventura defeated Oxnard 5-0 in their final home appearance of the 2025 season.
Pirates Bring the Heat on Sophomore Night

The VC women's soccer team brough the heat on Sophomore Night Tuesday, defeating Oxnard 5-0. Five different players scored goals for Ventura and goal keeper Janessah Gonzalez posted the 15th shutout of her two-year career, moving her to No. 5 on the Pirates' all-time list. She was joined by center back Leslie Torres and midfielder Jazzy Moreno as the Players of the Game for VC.

Women's Soccer earns point in draw with Santa Barara

The Pirates' women's soccer team earned a point in the table Friday with a 1-1 draw with front-runner Santa Barbara at the VC Sportsplex. After giving up an early score, Ventura received an equalizer from Jennifer Ramirez in the 67th minute of play for the tie score. Viviana Marmolejo and Tanaya Moreno also had strong outings for VC (8-6-6, 5-2-4) heading into the final week of the regular season.

Pirtaes and Brahmas battle to scoreless draw

The VC womn's soccer team traveled to Woodland Hills Tuesday afternoon, battling Los Angeles Pierce to a 0-0 draw in Western State Conference play. The game was another physical contest between the two teams as strong defensive play kept the offenses off balance for the majority of the contest. Pirate goalkeeper Janessh Gonzalez posted her ninth shutout of the season and center backs Leslie Torres and Tanaya Moreno each played well, alsong with center mid Klarissa Melgoza.

VC freshman Viviana Marmolejo scored the only goal in the game as the Pirates defeated Hancock 1-0 Friday at the Sportsplex.

The Pirates' women's soccer team played a physical battle with visiting Allan Hancock Friday night, emerging with a 1-0 triumph to even the season series iwth the Bulldogs. Viviana Marmolejo scored the lone goal of the game in the 30th minute with an assist fromAlondra Sanchez. Meanwhile, Klarissa Melgoza had an excellent outing in her center midfield position in helping preserve the shutout win.

Pirate sophomore Jennifer Ramirez scored three goals Wednesday as VC scored five times in the second half to win at Cuesta, 5-2.
Pirates score five in second half at Cuesta

Playing in the program's 650th overall game since the program's inception in 1996, the Pirates' women's soccer team used a five-goal second half to race past Cuesta 5-2 Wednesday in San Luis Obispo. Jennifer Ramirez's hat trick paced VC (7-6-4, 4-2-2) while Arianna Hernandez scored twice in the game.

The VC women's soccer team travels to San Luis Obispo Tuesday in what otherwise would be a non-descript late October Western State Conference fixture at Cuesta College, but it is not. Instead the contest is a milestone game for the Pirates. When Ventura takes the pitch against the Cougars, it will be the team's 650th overall game and 350th WSC match-up since the program's inception 1996, all under legendary head coach Steve Hoffman.

The VC women's soccer team battled Moorpark to a 0-0 tie Wednesday night at the Sportsplex. Isabella Hurtado and Yaraby Herrera kept the pressure on for the Pirates, but could not find the inside of the net in the cross-county rivalry. VC goal keeper Janessah Gonzalez turned back five shots on goal by the Raiders in preserving the shutout.

The VC women's soccer team traveled across the Santa Clara River Friday and came home with a 4-0 victory over rival Oxnard.Valeria Lopez, Jennifer Ramirez, Samantha Quinonez and Viviana Marmolejo all netted goals in the rout while Janessah Gonzalez had a pair of saves in goal for the shutout win.

The VC women's soccer team battled to a scoreless draw against Los ANgeles Pierce COllege Friday night at the VC Sportsplex. Janessah Gonzalez had four saves in goal to preserve the shutout for the Pirates and Tanaya Moreno also had a solid outing defensively for Ventura (5-5-3, 2-1-1).

The VC women's soccer team traveled to Allan Hancock College Tuesday and the Pirates had their three-game winning streak come to an end against the Bulldogs. Jazzy Moreno scored Ventura's lone goal on the day in the team's first Western State Conference setback of the season.

Soccer Makes in three in-a-row and five of six

The VC women's soccer captured their third straight win and their fifth positive result in six games with a 2-0 shutout of visiting Cuesta Friday. Cristal Vargas and Jazzy Moreno each scored goals and Alondra Snachez again anchored the defensive effort in the Western Satte Conference triumph.
